A group of Broadies interested in unionization joins with the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America union (UE) and begins a formal process to attempt to represent a subset of Broad employees. Broad Institute begins training managers in potentially-impacted teams to help ensure employees’ rights to organize are respected and protected in compliance with the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and to help managers understand what is and is not appropriate to discuss about the process. These training sessions are supported by outside experts, and are ongoing.
